As a bilingual Advertising, Marketing and Promotions Law attorney, I actually like to look at the ads around me wherever I may be in whatever language. As I was traveling this past weekend, I noticed an ad in Spanish, which read “Sus vacactiones son nuestra vacacion.” Although it is not really part of my job description to edit for grammar, I do point grammatical issues to clients. I completely understand taking artistic freedom with language, but grammatical mistakes like this one are distracting and the message gets lost. Best business practice is to have your marketing campaigns reviewed in the language they are going to run, and preferably BEFORE launching publicly.   Feel free to contact me with any questions.
