When potential customers land on your website, they should be greeted by your cookie banner, which gives your guests tracking options. Some guests don’t want to be tracked at all, hence the opt-out option. Other guests don’t seem to mind. Given the number of different Privacy Laws in the USA, with which one should you comply? How about the international Privacy Laws like GDPR in the EU, or Pipeda in Canada, are they applicable to you too? What do you think, do you even need a cookie banner on your website? Let me know in the comments.

Major points to keep in mind about cookie banners…
1. When you have a website, you are advertising nationally and internationally.
2. Who is landing on your website, determines which privacy laws may be applicable.
3. Most Privacy laws, if not all, require a cookie banner.

So, the simple answer is YES, your website needs a cookie banner. If you don’t have one, your business could be sued for Privacy Law violations or fined by a government body.

Best business practice is to be legally compliant with all applicable Privacy Laws. If you don’t know which apply to you or how to become compliant, feel free to reach out to me, I’m happy to guide you.
